A quick overview of OCM NZ for Season 39, which was not as successful as #38 for those from the land of the Kiwi.
1. A few retirements, including the most capped NZ rider never to score a point in WT races -- Kieran Atiga, who was the leading NZ rider (so possibly captain) in 2 of his 38 NZ caps.
2. Ruru Leonard produced his 2nd WT win, joining Mils Rodda (3) and Tamati Lima (2) as the only multiple WT winners in NZ colours. Leonard also recorded his 3rd successive national title, becoming only the 2nd rider to have ever achieved a NZ hatrick, Abbot Heinritz having previously achieved the feat in Seasons 9 through 11.
3. NZ Tour results:
-- Allan Wade (Velo Kiwi), 3rd overall & 2nd YC in Volta ao Porto.
-- Aidan Randall (Rorys Rovers), 8th overall in Race of the Minutemen.
4. NZ Classics results:
-- Kieran Thorntom (Achterhoek Cycling Team), 7th in Brebes - Brebes.
